The CREW Land & Water Trust will launch a unique program for Early Stage Alzheimer’s patients and their caretakers on October 22, 2012 at their CREW Bird Rookery Swamp trail. The Nature’s Peace at CREW program will consist of a picturesque guided stroll over a boardwalk that overlooks a magnificent swamp habitat and frequently produces memorable encounters with butterflies, birds, reptiles, amphibians and mammals.

The CREW staff and volunteers will stimulate the patient’s senses of touch, sight, smell and hearing. The accompanying caretakers will get a brief respite from their daily duties of patient care while enjoy their loved one’s interaction with Nature.

The stroll will be relatively short. Participants must be physically capable of standing and walking for about 90 minutes. The Nature’s Peace at CREW stroll is free thanks to the contributions of the Friends of CREW.

All Times from:  10:30 to 12:00 Noon

We are pleased to announce that the Naples Zoo has welcomed us back for this year’s Elephant Fest.  This will be our 30th anniversary of the Alzheimer’s Support Network.   We exist because of private donations and corporate sponsorship of our Elephant Fest Fundraiser.   Having this event at Jungle Larry’s or the Caribbean Gardens or simply the Naples Zoo has become more than a tradition, it makes this a special day we all look forward to throughout the year.   Please join us in thanking everyone at the Zoo who makes this happen!

This year’s Elephant Fest will be Saturday November 10th.  We  will be sending out a letter with the details shortly.    Until then, did you know Florida Residents can gain admission into the Zoo for half price.   That’s only $10.00 for a full day at the Zoo for adults who reside in Florida.
